Doodle cats and hot dogs

I've been working on some more illustrations for fun :) I polished up some of the drawings from my sketchbook for the Sketchbook Project. I think its pretty neat to give an old drawing a second chance.

This is what the finished illustration looks like:

And here is the sketch:

(Can you find the cats that I used?)

I colored some dogs too... hot dogs!

I picked the dachshund because the blank eyes were so hilarious to me.
And below is the sketch:

Here's an image that I drew back in 2006:

I don't like a lot of my old artwork but I still like this one. Its one of the first images that I worked on where I really started to develop my style. I remember that this drawing took forever to do (and its still not finished!). The tiger has so many harsh angles (Maybe I should re-do this drawing too...). This drawing had so many obstacles because of my learning curve for Flash and also the equipment I was using was inferior to the equipment I have now. I persevered and just a few years later I'm ten times faster! The two new drawings were made in under an hour! I wouldn't have believed that this was possible back then. I think this is why its important to keep sketchbooks and old work. They track your progress and the feeling of accomplishment is priceless.

Hiya Mate! :O)

Yes, I sussed out which ones you used, even though you cheekily added a tail to it! I call shenanigans!

Cat 1: Last cat on the second page.

Cat 2: Third cat on page one.

I iz gud @ dis thngs! Wut do ah win?

I like the hot dog! lol would look even funnier on a bun. I know what you mean about the vacant stare in some animals! How docile do they look? Thought I was alone in thinking it was funny!

Your style is what I call "Typical Sarah" (don't mean that in a bad way). I see bits and bobs on the TV and net and I think: "That's reminisent of Sarah's work that!" The stuff is usualy super cute, I mean to the point of wanting to put sugar on it and eat it! Of course you do do other things too, you're not limited to one thing! :)

Hope all is well in the land of Sarah! :)
